Cabinet approval has been received for handing over the renovation work of Diyagama Mahinda Rajapakse Sports Complex to the Army. In the Cabinet meeting held on 01-08-2024, approval was given to get the construction works of the new sub-projects currently underway and proposed to be implemented by the Sri Lanka Army related to the development of the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Diyagama.
Accordingly, it is planned to construct the roofs of the junior sports hall of the stadium and the second viewing stand of the new athletic field. The Council of Ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs to get the said construction work done by the Sri Lanka Army. (Lankadeepa)
