The Ministry of Agriculture says that the distribution of urea fertilizer required for the first fertilizer application has already started two weeks after planting paddy in the upcoming season.
According to the requests made by the farmer organizations, steps have been taken to send the urea slurry to the agricultural service centres.
The Ministry of Agriculture further stated that the amount of urea fertilizer that the two government fertilizer companies have distributed throughout the island is 22,981 metric tons between September 29 and October 10.
