The release of the empowered rice granted by the World Food Program to the schools to provide a nutritious meal to the school students started yesterday (19) at the Weyangoda food warehouse premises.

Aiming to reduce iron deficiency among school children, fortified rice is provided for school meals and the Director General of the Partnership Secretariat for the World Food Program under the Presidential Secretariat, M.H.A.M. It is reported that this distribution has been done under the supervision of Riflan.

Accordingly, under the first phase, the release of 735 metric tons of rice at the provincial level started today and will continue today (20). This rice stock will be delivered to the schools under the supervision of the provincial education department officials and public health inspection officers of the respective area.
