The player auction for the 2023 Lanka Premier League cricket tournament started yesterday (14) at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo at around 3 pm. All 5 Lanka Premier League cricket tournament teams had arranged to buy many different players.
The highest bid was fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka, who the Jaffna Kings bought for US$92,000. The second highest-selling player in the auction was Charith Asalanka who was bought for US$ 80,000.
Shoaib Malik was the first foreign player to be bought in the auction. Jaffna Kings bought Malik who was valued at $50,000.
