Day 3 Summary: National Super League Four-Day Tournament

In the first week of the National Super League four-day cricket tournament, which is being held for the second time, the Kandy and Galle teams managed to record an innings victory yesterday (21st) with one more day left.

Kandy’s first innings: 565 for 9 in 109.1 overs – (Oshada Fernando 201, Sandun Weerakkodi 144, Lasith Kruspulle 29, Sahan Goyyage 32, Ahan Wickramasinghe 107, Nisala Taraka 112/5)

Galle Vs Dambulla

The Dambulla team, which started the second innings from the back of 184 runs, managed to collect only 114 runs in the second innings as well. Apart from Dylan Jayalath (47) and opening batsman Nimesh Gunasinghe (29), who entered the field as the No. 3 batsman, the opposing captain Ramesh Mendis did not give the opportunity to the other batsman to come among the talents.

Ramesh Mendis, who excelled in bowling, took 3 wickets for 34 runs, while Asanka Manoj and Milan Ratnayake took 2 wickets each.

Dambulla first innings: 155 runs in 48.5 overs – (Nimesh Gunasinghe 31, Dylan Jayalath 27, Lasith Abeyratne 24, Chalana de Silva 23, Lakshan Sandakan 26*, Kavishka Anjula 23/5, Asanka Manoj 35/2, Ramesh Mendis 11/2 , Praveen Jayawickrama 27/1) and second innings 114 runs in 44 overs – (Dylan Jayalath 47, Nimesh Gunasinghe 29, Minod Bhanuka 10, Sanoj Darshika 13, Ramesh Mendis 23/3, Asanka Manoj 27/2, Milan Ratnayake 34/ 2, Kaviska Anjula 18/1)
