Cultus Workforce Development Services Pvt Ltd., a subsidiary of Cultus Education and
Technology Services, officially announced the launch of its operations in Sri Lanka at a special
press conference, marking the entry of a global upskilling and placement-focused organization
dedicated to workforce transformation.
In addition to its proprietary Cultus Job Readiness (CJR) programme – a comprehensive training
pathway designed to equip youth with the skills, mindset, and competencies required to
succeed in corporate environments and secure meaningful employment – the company
introduced the globally recognised AWS re/Start programme in collaboration with Amazon Web
Services as part of its Sri Lanka debut.
The AWS re/Start program is a cohort-based workforce development initiative that combines
technical training with practical, job-ready skills to prepare individuals for entry-level careers in
cloud computing. In addition, the Cultus Job Readiness (CJR) programme prepares participants
for professional settings, long-term career development, and workplace expectations in order
to bridge the gap between education and employment.
The programme has already attracted over 400 applicants, indicating a growing desire among
Sri Lankan youth for globally relevant digital skills. It has demonstrated great early momentum.
Aspiring learners looking to pursue jobs in the digital economy enthusiastically participated in
the inaugural AWS re/Start batch, which commenced on Monday, April 27th.
Cultus Workforce Development Services has a track record of success in upskilling youth,
improving employability, and facilitating job placements in a number of markets, including
India, Indonesia, and Myanmar. By building a workforce prepared for the future, the company’s
entry into Sri Lanka is a strategic step toward making a significant contribution to the country’s
economic growth.
Beyond its initial programme offerings, Cultus Workforce Development Services outlined its
long-term vision to expand into a variety of high-demand sectors. 5G network architecture,
semiconductor technologies, electric vehicle (EV) technology, embedded systems, solar energy,
artificial intelligence and generative AI, robotics and automation, IoT, and cybersecurity are
some of these advanced and emerging fields. The company’s dedication to supporting Sri
Lanka’s evolving industry needs outside of the traditional IT field is seen in this diversified
approach.
Additionally, the company reaffirmed its ambition to create a measurable and beneficial impact
on Sri Lanka’s economy by enabling youth access to viable career pathways, which will boost
the country’s productivity and competitiveness globally. This objective is also aligned with the
Sri Lanka’s The National Digital Economy Strategy for Sri Lanka – 2030

Speaking at the launch, Ashani Jayasinghe, CEO of Cultus Workforce Development Services Pvt
Ltd., stated: “Our launch in Sri Lanka is the start of a long-term commitment to equip youth
with the skills they need to thrive in a world that is becoming more digital and competitive. We
are training people for real-world careers in addition to providing them with technical skills
through initiatives like AWS re/Start and our Cultus Job Readiness programme. We have no
doubt that this will give the youth in Sri Lanka significant opportunities and advance the
country’s economy as a whole.”
Nalin Singh, Founder and Managing Director of Cultus Education, added: “We have firsthand
experience with the transformative power of structured upskilling and placement programmes,
having implemented similar workforce development initiatives throughout the region. Sri Lanka
has enormous potential, and we are eager to collaborate closely with stakeholders to create a
sustainable ecosystem that connects opportunity and talent.”
Cultus Workforce Development Services will support the introduction of global learning
platforms like AWS Academy and AWS Educate within Sri Lanka’s higher education sector, even
as the primary focus continues to be on workforce readiness and employment-driven training.
Through completely discounted learning pathways, these programmes will allow universities
and academic institutions to provide students access to cloud and digital skills that are industry-
aligned.
To expand its impact and accelerate Sri Lanka’s journey to a workforce that is globally
competitive and skilled digitally, Cultus Workforce Development Services invites collaboration
with government bodies, academic institutions, industry leaders, and development partners.
