The Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) questioned Transport Ministry officials about why 103 of 160 railway compartments purchased into the nation through an Indian loan arrangement in 2017 are still not in use.
Officials stated that the vacuum brake system is in use throughout the country, and that some of the railway compartments only had the air brake system. The decision to import a non-compliant railway cabin was attributed to authorities at the conference.
