The Colombo Stock Market’s All Share Price Index (ASPI) delivered an exceptional performance in 2024, recording a remarkable growth of 49.66%. Starting the year at 10,654.16 points, the ASPI surged to a historic high of 15,944.61 points by year-end.
Similarly, the S&P SL20 Index, which tracks the top 20 leading companies on the exchange, grew by an impressive 58.46%, reaching a record value of 4,862.10 points. This marks the highest value ever recorded for both the ASPI and the S&P SL20 Index.
Adding to these milestones, the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) achieved a record-breaking market capitalization of Rs. 5.69 trillion, a first in its history. These achievements underscore the market’s resilience and the growing confidence of investors in 2024.
