Parliament approved yesterday (18) Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena’s proposal to appoint Dr Prathap Ramanujam, Dr Anula Wijesundara and Dr Dinesha Samararatne as the three civilian representatives of the Constitutional Council to be newly established in accordance with the twenty-first constitutional amendment.

Accordingly, he mentioned that these three will be named on the nominations of both the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition to the Constitutional Council as per sub-article (1) of Article 41 of the Constitution. (Divaina)
