Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says that an investigation into the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijar, who advocated for human rights, has been initiated in 2022.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has explained in front of the country’s parliament that the investigation is going on after the accusation that the Bharatiya Janata Party government of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is behind the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijar.
Hardeep Singh Nijar was killed on June 18, 2022, in front of a Shik temple in Kada, Surrey. Canada has the largest population of Sikhs outside of India.
Prime Minister Modi’s Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party is pandering to the Sikhs. It is also said that Sikhs are oppressed in India. Hardeep Singh Nijar was an activist who regularly criticized the Indian government. (Reuters)
