As the diesel shortage in the country continues, private buses will reduce routine operations by 50% from tomorrow (6).Responding to a query, Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA) Chairman Gemunu Wijeratne said that despite assurances by the Transport Ministry and the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), private buses – which make up the majority of public transport – would be unable to source an adequate volume of fuel to carry out routine operations.Further to their request on making moves to provide adequate fuel for the busses.
