According to the All Ceylon Bakery Owners’ Association, consumers would start receiving relief from the price of bread as of tomorrow (31).Accordingly, the president of the association NK Jayawardena said that a decision will be taken tomorrow after confirming whether the price of imported wheat flour has been reduced to 250 rupees per kilo.In the meantime, Nihal Seneviratne, media spokesperson of the Importers’ Association of Essential Commodities stated that the wholesale price of a kilogram of wheat flour has decreased to 250 rupees.
