The story of a developed continent that sank into the sea can be heard in Western as well as Eastern folk tales. When talking about Sri Lanka, a part of Sri Lanka is said to have sunk into the sea. Among these folk tales, the most popular story all over the world is the story about Atlantis or the city of Atlantis. At different times people like mystics have made various revelations about the city of Atlantis. Archaeologists and historians do not agree with that. But this theory is extremely popular among people who study legends and alternative history explorers, so we thought we would bring you a brief note about the city of Atlantis.

1. Where was the city of Atlantis?

This question is the burning question when talking about the Atlantis doctrine. According to Plato, who is considered to be the first written evidence about the city of Atlantis, this city existed near the Atlantic Ocean today. According to him, Atlantic City sank into the sea about nine thousand years before his lifetime. According to some explorers, the city of Atlantis was located near the Mediterranean Sea. Some say that Antarctica now stands on the site of Atlantis.

2. The size of the city

According to Plato, the city of Atlantis was spread over an area larger than Libya and Asia combined. Considering the area of the Atlantic Ocean, some people say that it is a fact that the city of Atlantis existed in its vicinity, while other parties say that the city of Atlantis existed in an area similar to the island of Crete, the largest island of Greece.

3. God’s love

According to the legends about Atlantis, this city was created by Poseidon, the Greek god who is considered to be the ruler of the sea. He creates this city for a beautiful woman named Cleito whom he met while travelling around the human world. He chooses the largest island in the world for that and makes the people living there the most characteristic and intelligent people in the world.

4. A palace is like a prison

However, it is said that Poseidon, who is deeply in love with Cleito, kept her locked in a luxurious palace built in Atlantis to have her alone. There were five canals in the shape of a ring on this island and those five canals are connected to the sea by several other canals. Also, the arrangements to protect every entrance to the city have been organized according to the guidance of Poseidon.

5. Atlas

The legend goes on to say that Poseidon and Cleito had ten children, two twins each, in five seasons. The eldest, Atlas, becomes the first ruler of this magnificient kingdom. He built a huge temple for his father in the middle of the city and the image of Poseidon riding a chariot drawn by sea horses was made entirely of gold. It is further mentioned that this temple is so big that its roof is covered in clouds.

6. The connection between Aliens and Atlantis

Another group of people exploring Atlantis is of the opinion that this city was built by extraterrestrials. According to them, this group of creatures came to earth about fifty thousand years ago. This group believes that their average lifespan at that time is about eight hundred years. According to another part, the city of Atlantis was not a civilization on Earth and it was located on the world of Mars.

7. The Revelation of Edgar Cayce

According to Edgar Casey, who revealed the past through hypnosis, Atlantis will once again appear in this world, and the people who lived there have now been reborn in the United States of America and are preparing the necessary background for that era. However, we will be able to know how Casey’s prediction will be only in the future.
