The Department of Meteorology says that there is mainly rainless weather in many parts of the island.The department stated that some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and Western provinces and Galle and Matara districts may experience foggy conditions in the morning.Winds are blowing from the northeast and the wind speed is likely to be around 20 to 30 kilometres per hour.The Meteorological Department further stated that the wind speed may increase from 40 to 45 kilometres per hour from time to time in offshore areas from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota.
