The Department of Meteorology announces that in the next few days, there will be favourable atmospheric conditions for the occurrence of thunderstorms in the evening in many parts of the island, and accordingly, scattered rain or thundershowers may occur in many parts of the island today (30th) after 2.00 pm.The announcement further stated that in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and Southern provinces, heavy rains of over 100 mm may occur, and in the Eastern Province and Mullaitivu and Hambantota districts, rain or thundershowers may also occur in the morning.

Pakistan Army Commander General Asim Munir has arrived in China for a four-day visit.Pakistani media has reported that the purpose of General Asim Munir’s visit is to further strengthen the existing security relations between China and Pakistan.Asim Munir took over as Pakistan’s army chief in November last year. A Sri Lankan engineer working as an electrical engineer in Dubai has produced a new device to prevent damage caused by monkeys.
