In the wake of the current energy crisis, Australia’s Minister of Energy has advised New South Wales residents to turn off their lights.
New South Wales is a state with numerous major cities, notably Sydney.
According to reports, Chris Bowen, Minister of Energy and Climate Change, advised that individuals should not use energy for two hours every evening if they “had a choice.”
He has claimed, however, that he is “sure” that blackouts can be averted.
This move comes after Australia’s primary wholesale power market was stopped owing to a price increase, and Bowen asked the public to avoid using electricity between 6 PM and 8 PM if possible.(BBC)
