It is seen in an announcement issued by US NASA that the ‘Artemis 2’ lunar mission will start in November 2024.

America’s NASA has started the ‘Artemis‘ mission once again aiming to reach the moon. The first test mission of ‘Artemis 1’ was successfully carried out in December 2022. There, the ‘Orayan’ space capsule was used for an unmanned experiment. The space capsule ‘Orayan’ went to the moon after a period of 25 days and returned to earth after orbiting the moon.

NASA has designed the Orion capsule to carry astronauts to the moon. The ‘Orayan’ capsule, which went to the moon under the ‘Artemis 1’ mission, landed back on Earth with the help of a parachute.

Artemis 2, which will launch in November 2024, will carry three astronauts. However, they will board the ‘Orayan’ capsule and go around the moon and return to Earth. Astronauts set foot on the moon under the ‘Artemis 3’ mission. Operation ‘Artemis 3’ will take place depending on the success of Operation ‘Artemis 2’. (Reuters)
