The Department of Meteorology says that the temperature in several island areas will rise today (06) to a level that calls for “strong attention”. The department stated that the heat felt by the human body would remain at such a high level in some places in the North, North Central, North West and East provinces and Monaragala district.
Also, the Department of Meteorology stated that the heat will remain at a level that deserves attention in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and some places in the Matale district. The department stated that they should follow health advice such as drinking enough water, resting as much as possible in shaded places, and limiting strenuous outdoor activities.
