On the instructions of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, efforts have been made to establish an International Trade Office (ITO) in Sri Lanka that will connect Sri Lanka with global value chains.
This new office will be established in order to make the activities more efficient and regular by eliminating the shortcomings of the separate approaches taken by the international trade institutions and by coordinating all the relevant institutions, the maximum contribution of the international trade sectors to the country’s economy is to be done.
