Representatives of the ‘GoHomeGota’ campaign at the Galle Face Green in Colombo are scheduled to hold a discussion with all party leaders on the future political course of the country.
The names of 25 representatives of the ‘GoHomeGota’ protest campaign have been selected to participate in the discussion which is set to take place at 02 pm today, convened by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
The meeting has been organized to obtain the suggestions and proposals of the anti-government protesters on the future measures to be taken with regard to creating political stability in Sri Lanka.
During a media briefing held yesterday, the representatives of the ‘GoHomeGota’ protest campaign warned that they will not allow any party or person to sabotage the efforts of the anti-government protesters.
Following the mass public uprising on 09th July, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa announced that he will tender his resignation tomorrow (13).
The President’s resignation is expected to pave way for the establishment of an interim all-party government to resolve the current economic crisis in Sri Lanka.
The ‘GoHomeGota’ protest campaign which is underway for the 95th consecutive day, has been calling for the resignation of the President, Prime Minister, and the government, as well as the appointment of an interim all-party government, among other key demands.
