The Sri Lankan team managed to win the third and final ODI match between the touring Afghanistan team and the Sri Lankan team today (07) 2-1.
After winning the toss and batting first, the Afghanistan team managed to score only 116 runs after 22 overs. Mohammad Nabi scored 23 runs and Ibrahim Zadran scored 22 runs for the Afghanistan team. In bowling, Dushmantha Chameera took 4 wickets, Wanindu Hasaranga took 3 wickets, Lahiru Kumara took 2 wickets and Maheesh Theekshana took one wicket each.
The Sri Lankan team, who played the reply innings, managed to pass their winning target after losing one wicket at the end of 16 overs. Pathum Nissanka scored 51 runs for the Sri Lankan team, Dimuth Karunaratne scored 56 runs not out and Kusal Mendis scored 11 runs not out.
Accordingly, winning the Afghanistan-Sri Lanka series, which consisted of three matches, 2-1, was also noted in the record books. Dushmantha Chameera was elected as the Man of the Match and also the Man of the Series.
