A study on promoting tourism in Anuradhapura

The Anuradhapura historic region is being developed by the government to become a destination that may draw more visitors, and an expert committee will be created to provide recommendations in that direction.

The Committee will also confer with representatives of other nations, such as France, whose ancient buildings have been turned into tourism destinations.

The development of Anuradhapura as a tourism destination is something that President Ranil Wickremesinghe is interested in. The initiative intends to enhance tourism in the nation by luring more visitors from China, Myanmar, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam to Anuradhapura.

In ancient cities like those in Egypt, visitors often stay for approximately a week, while the majority of international visitors to Anuradhapura only stay for around half a day.
