Ceylon Petroleum Statutory Corporation made a profit of 43.4 billion rupees or 4,340 crore rupees in the first four months of this year (2023), according to the financial status report issued by the Ministry of Finance in the middle of this year.
The reports say that in those four months, 277.1 million dollars were spent on crude oil import and 1,009.3 million dollars on mineral oil import and the total value of petroleum products imported by the Petroleum Corporation during that period was 877.35 million dollars.
The report further reveals that between January and April of this year, Sri Lanka incurred a cost of $1,599.7 million for fuel import, which is 30% of the total import cost. (Direct quote: Lankadeepa)
