Public Utilities Commission Chairman Janaka Ratnayake says that the electricity bill cannot be increased in a way that affects the past.
He said while attending a press conference held yesterday (10) that the calculations in the proposal presented to the cabinet are wrong and that the proposal will be thoroughly considered before giving its approval.
Janaka Ratnayake further stated that the electricity bill increase proposal was received yesterday and it will take between 45 to 50 days to consider the matter the Electricity Board will do all the work so that it is not unfair and fair to the consumers.
