With the involvement of clubs competing in the Governor’s Trophy, teams demoted from the Major Club 2022 season, and Dimbula C&AC, a team that has played cricket for more than a century, Sri Lanka Cricket will hold a new 50-over competition.
The new competition, which will start on February 25, 2023, will provide bright young people who aren’t competing in the current Major Club Under-23 Tournament the chance to show what they can do and earn a spot in the competition.
The “SLC Invitational Club Under 23—50 Over Tournament 2023” will be the name of the new competition.
The Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket, with the assistance of the Tournament Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket, will make the decision about the event’s yearly continuation based on the outcome of this first competition. (Sri Lanka Cricket)
