A series of new instructions have been issued to the police not to check and stop traffic while performing their duties in civilian clothes.
Acting Inspector General of Police Deshbandu Tennakoon says that these instructions were sent to all police stations yesterday (19).
The Acting Inspector General of Police further states that this new set of instructions was given after a person died in a shooting by a police officer in the Narammala area recently.
