The Gampaha Nungamuwa Police say that a doctor working at Soysa Hospital in Colombo was stabbed and cut by her husband with a knife and was seriously injured. Police say that the seriously injured doctor is receiving treatment at the Ragama Teaching Hospital.
A high-ranking police officer of the area told the media that her husband, who allegedly cut the doctor with a knife and injured her, is a candidate who is contesting for a local council in Gampaha district with Samagi Jana Bala speed for this local government election.
The police also say that the doctor has cut wounds on her back and hand.
According to the police, information has been revealed that the husband did this after an argument regarding a phone number that was said to be included in the doctor’s mobile phone went too far. (Lankadeepa)
