In conjunction with the 75th National Independence Day celebration, according to the instructions of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, the army distributed 80.14 acres of non-government land located in the Palali High-Security Zone to its rightful owners yesterday (3).
The army says 12.14 acres of land in the Palali North Gram Niladhari domain, 0.72 perches in Thelippalai Gram Niladhari domain in Palali High-Security Zone, 50.59 acres of land in Kankasanthure Central Divisional Secretariat and 16.55 acres of land in Mailadi North Gram Niladhari domain were handed over to the Jaffna Divisional Secretary yesterday.
The Jaffna Commander handed over the documents to the Jaffna District Secretary Mr Ega Sivabalasundaran in a ceremony related to the project which was implemented in coordination with the Jaffna District Secretariat and Divisional Secretariat offices by Major General Swarna Bothota, Jaffna Defense Force Commander on the instructions of the Army Commander Lt. Gen. Vikum Liyanage. (Lankadeepa)
