The Chinese ship carrying 1000 metric tons of rice (100,000 packets of rice) arrived in Colombo yesterday morning (19) to distribute to school children in Sri Lanka as a donation from China.
The Chinese embassy in Sri Lanka said in a tweet that they will distribute the rice immediately.
Since last June, 7000 metric tons of rice have been given to Sri Lanka under Chinese aid.
