Rear Admiral Priyantha Perera has been appointed as the 25th Naval Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy after being promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral.
It is stated that the relevant appointment has been made by the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Accordingly, the former Commander of the Navy, Admiral Nishantha Ulugethenna, traditionally presented the Sword of the Commander of the Navy and handed over duties to the new Commander of the Navy at the Navy Headquarters.
