Veteran writer and award-winning professor Chandrasiri Palliyaguru has passed away today. At the time of his death, he was 80 years old and worked as a professor related to the subject of communication as the head of the Department of Mass Communication Studies at the University of Kelaniya and as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities.
He has published 54 works including novels, reviews, translations and children’s works. Among his works ‘Samaaja Muhunuwara’ in 1984 and ‘Yathaarthaya saha Nirmaana’ in 1994 received the State Award.
