The leading fertilizer companies of the island have agreed to reduce the price of a 50 kg bundle of urea fertilizer by 7500 rupees in the market. This agreement was announced yesterday after a discussion with the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Mahinda Amaraweera, and representatives of several companies that import fertilizers to Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, the representatives have agreed to sell a bundle of urea fertilizer, currently sold at 18,500 rupees, at 11,000 rupees.
