Buddhasasana, Minister of Religious and Cultural Affairs Vidura Wickramanayake instructed the officials to make the Trincomalee Fort Fredrick easy to visit for local and foreign tourists and further arrange it in an orderly manner.

The minister also instructed the officers to prepare a pilot plan in a way that makes the fort and the fort premises easy to visit for local and foreign tourists and does not interfere with the work of the temple, shrine and military camp located there.

Minister Wickramanayake said that the fort and the monuments outside it should be further preserved in a safe manner, the areas to be excavated should be expeditiously conserved and completed, and various methods of obtaining information about the fort should be prepared to increase the tourist attraction.

Under the supervision of the Central Cultural Fund and the Department of Archaeology, the preserved Trincomalee Fort Fredrick will be opened to local and foreign tourists and a tourist ticket will be issued for it, the minister said.
