The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thunder may occur in many parts of the island in the evening or at night.
The department said that there may be rain in the morning in the eastern, southern and western provinces and in the Jaffna district.
Some places in the Western, Central, Southern and Sabaragamuwa Provinces may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm and some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and Western Provinces are likely to experience foggy conditions in the morning.
The Department of Meteorology requests that people should take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
