The Department of Meteorology says that occasional rain or thundershowers may occur in the Northern, North Central, Eastern, Uva and Central provinces.
The department mentioned that heavy rains of more than 50 mm may occur in Some places in Trincomalee, Mullaitivu and Polonnaruwa districts.
In the rest of the areas, rain or thunder may occur in some places in the evening or at night, and in some places in Sabaragamuwa province, Kalutara and Galle districts will receive a high of 75 mm possible.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
