The Meteorological Department announces that the sky is heavy with clouds in many parts of the island and rain or thunder may occur from time to time.
In the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and Ampara, Kurunegala, Gampaha and Hambantota districts, heavy rains of more than 100 mm may also occur in some places, the announcement said.
