The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thundershowers may occur in places throughout the island today (30) in the evening or at night. The department mentioned that some places in the Eastern and Uva provinces may experience heavy rains of about 75 millimetres.
In the morning, rain is also possible along the western coast, in the districts of Galle and Matara. The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
