The Department of Meteorology says that the lower atmospheric disturbance that was around the island is gradually moving away from the island.
The department states that several rainy seasons may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Jaffna, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
In Uva province and Batticaloa and Ampara districts there may be scattered rain or thundershowers in the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
