The Department of Meteorology says that today (27th) there will be rain or thundershowers in Central, Uva, North-Central and Eastern Provinces and in Mullaitivu District in the evening or at night.
Some places in North-Central, Central, Uva and Eastern Provinces received mm. The department states that heavy rains above 50 may occur.
Few spots of rain may occur in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts.
The Department of Meteorology requests that people take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
