The Department of Meteorology says that several showers of rain may occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western provinces and Galle and Matara districts.
The department states that there may be rain or thundershowers in places in Uva province and Ampara and Batticaloa districts in the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology requests the public take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
