The Department of Meteorology says that there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms in the evening or night in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
More than 75 mm of heavy rain is also possible in some places and there is a possibility of rain in the morning in the northern, eastern, Uva and north-central provinces and in the southern coastal areas.
The Department of Meteorology urges that individuals take the required precautions to reduce the risks posed by thunderstorms’ transient high winds and lightning.
