The Department of Meteorology says that further development of the rain condition over the island is expected today (22).
The department stated that rain or thundershowers may occur in many parts of the island after 1.00 pm.
Some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, North-West, North Central and Uva Provinces may receive heavy rains of about 100 mm, and some places in the Northern and Eastern Provinces may also experience rain in the morning.
The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
