According to the Department of Meteorology, the sky is heavy with clouds in the North, North-Central, North-West and Uva provinces of the island due to the low-pressure zone in the South Bay of Bengal sea area.
The department stated that rains may occur in the North, East, Uva and North-Central provinces from time to time.
In the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and Galle and Matara districts, scattered showers or thunderstorms may occur in the evening or at night.
In some places in North, East, Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces, mm. There is a chance of showers in the upper 50s.
The Department of Meteorology urges that individuals take the required precautions to reduce the risks posed by thunderstorms’ transient high winds and lightning.
