The Department of Meteorology says that there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms in many parts of the island after 1.00 pm. The department stated that some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, North-West and Uva provinces may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm.
Rain may also occur in some places in the Northern and Eastern Provinces and Hambantota District in the morning, while foggy conditions may prevail in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces in the morning.
The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
