The Department of Meteorology says that occasional rain or thundershowers may occur in the Western Province and Galle and Matara districts. The department stated that scattered showers or thunderstorms may occur in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Eastern and Uva provinces during the evening or night.
Strong winds of around 40 kilometres per hour may occur in the northern and north-central provinces and Puttalam districts from time to time. The Department of Meteorology asks citizens to take the required precautions to lessen the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
