The Department of Meteorology says that some light rains may occur in Eastern and Uva provinces and Polonnaruwa and Matale districts.
The department stated that in Sabaragamuwa province and Kalutara, Galle and Matara districts there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms during the evening or night.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
