The Department of Meteorology has announced that the low-pressure area in the southeast Bay of Bengal will develop into a depression in the next 48 hours and move westward towards the northwest on November 20 and 21, 2022.

It is seen in the announcement that rains will occur from time to time in the Eastern Province and some places may experience heavy rains of more than 50 mm there may be several periods of rain in the Northern and North-Central Provinces.

In the rest of the island, there is mainly rainless weather, while in the northern, north-central and eastern provinces there is an occasional gust of wind per (40-50) km. It further states that strong winds may occur and frosty conditions may prevail in Sabaragamuwa, Uva and Central Provinces in the morning.
