The Department of Meteorology says that rain will occur from time to time in Eastern, Uva, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North Central and North Western provinces.
The department mentioned that rain or thundershowers may occur at places in the rest of the island in the evening or at night.
Some places in Eastern and Uva provinces and Polonnaruwa and Hambantota districts received mm. More than 100 heavy rains may occur and some places in other areas will receive mm. About 75 there may be some heavy rain.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
