The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or night of today (18) in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and Uva provinces and in Galle, Matara and Mullaitivu districts. The department mentioned that there may be some rain in the morning in the western and north-western coastal areas and in the Jaffna district.
The public is being urged by the Department of Meteorology to take the appropriate precautions to reduce the risks posed by thunderstorm-related transitory high winds and lightning.
