The Department of Meteorology says that there will be rain from time to time in Eastern, Uva and Central provinces and in Hambantota and Polonnaruwa districts.
The department warns that severe rains of more than 100 mm may occur in certain areas.
The remainder of the island may have evening or nighttime rain or thundershowers, with some locations receiving mm. There might be heavy rain about 75.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
